This exercise provides a fun and effective way to identify the impact of learning styles on group problem-solving situations. It is especially effective for helping participants think about how they work as a team.
Individual participants are instructed to resolve an emergency situation by ranking, in order of importance, a list of useful items. They are then assigned to groups and asked to reach a group consensus on the rank ordering of those same items.
The exercise provides participants with an appreciation for different learning styles and how they can enhance the problem-solving process.
