1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files which are sent to a user’s computer or mobile phone from a website and are stored on the user’s device. Cookies are designed to make your visit to a website and internet browsing experience smooth and user friendly.

The main reasons we have cookies on Hay Group sites are to:

- Remember you: the log-in cookie
Some Hay Group sites allow users to login and require a cookie to retrieve personal information and account details. It also remembers that you logged in so you can browse multiple pages and do things like download content without being asked for your log in details each time.
- Save your preferences: the shopping cookie
Similar to the log in cookie but also remembers a visitor’s language and currency preference and the items added to the shopping cart.
- Enable social sharing: the social media cookie
These preference cookies collect information about social media usage.
- Provide data for improving our websites: the Google Analytics cookie
Hay Group uses Google Analytics to collect top level information about how people use its sites. Google analytics provides the information we need to improve the user experience and serve up the content our visitors find most useful. The Google Analytics cookies store information about what pages people visit, how long they are on the site, how they got there and what they click on.
Information supplied by Google Analytics helps Hay Group analyse site traffic to identify areas to improve in order to provide our visitors with a better experience.

|Hubspot ||Used to track leads’ activity on the site. HubSpot offers an online marketing subscription service that allow a company to build marketing webpages on HubSpot’s servers where visitors can learn more about the company, download content, and provide their contact information and other demographic information. This information is then used so that the visitors can be contacted about their interest in the company's goods or services and interact with the company. The HubSpot cookie collects information about your computer and your visits to our marketing web pages such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and pages viewed. |Analytics cookie ||Calltracks ||Call tracking software allows businesses to track the online and offline sources of phone calls received by potential clients and customers, providing them with a better understanding of which keywords or additional marketing led to a phone call and which did not. The calltracksGuid cookie identifies users within our site, for uniquely identifying the visitor between page views. The calltracksData cookie is used to holds information about the source referring the visitor (e.g., Google or Bing), the Pay Per Click ad that the visitor clicked on (if applicable), and which phone numbers have been displayed to the visitor.
